Daily coverage
What MintSnapshot handles for you
Set seconds or minutes (30s by default). Closing the window hides to the tray while captures keep running and every scan attempt is counted.
A shared object store reuses unchanged data. The latest versions are kept by default, with old objects cleaned before new captures so space stays under control.
Manual and auto entries are clearly labeled with added/changed/removed lists. Double-click manual snapshots to add notes so you know why a version was kept.
Revert a single file from any snapshot and immediately undo if you change your mind, keeping your current work safe.
Restore to a target folder or in-place with confirmations before deletions. A full backup action creates a one-to-one copy and warns when projects are large.
Editable default ignores with reset-to-defaults, quick-add global ignore chips, and per-project .mintignore support keep noise out of your snapshots.
Optional check on launch plus a manual "Check now" button. When a newer version is found, a banner surfaces with a clear call-to-action link.
Empty-change snapshots are skipped and scan counters stay visible so you know MintSnapshot is watching without wasting space.
Why MintSnapshot
Stay safe day to day
Auto cadence plus configurable retention keeps a restore-ready version even if your laptop sleeps or crashes mid-session.
Timeline context, per-file revert and undo, and manual notes make it easy to roll back only what changed without overwriting everything.
Deduplicated storage, ignore controls, and skipped empty-change snapshots keep backups small while full backups are one click away.
Tray mode, optional update checks, and scan counters show it's healthy without interrupting your day-to-day flow.

How you use MintSnapshot
Point MintSnapshot at a folder. Paths are validated and a baseline manifest is created so you're ready for the next change.
Auto cadence handles the routine captures while you can label manual ones. Empty-change snapshots are skipped to avoid clutter.
Restore safely, undo file reverts, or create a clean full backup to your preferred directory. Change lists make it obvious what will happen.
